GRS > others.

The GP one does recover a touch quicker but its as near as makes no difference. That and its now three times the cost of a GRS which only an idiot would pay. GRS isn't much more than an Airtec and your supporting a vendor who has supported the MINI scene since 2002.

If money no object get a GP, as recovery is noticeably quicker than a GRS and get less heat soaked, GRS motorsport is the better than the airtec IMO
Care to share the proof of the recovery, as I know Jove did some testing on PR1 but the switch was for some other reasons and the car was also running meth. My GRS never had any recovery issues ESP with the m7 scoop, with the scoop it recovered faster than my mates with a GP.

Paying 3 times the price of the GRS for the GP isn't even a debate worth having as its not 3 times the gain.

If you can weld and fibreglass you can DIY a GP, all Bher did was weld some extra rows on a stock one.

I've owned both james, the GP with standard bonnet vent recovered faster than the GRS Motorsport I had, I'm just letting the op know that in my opinion the GP is better, any way, any intercooler full of moss will have lost its cooling abilities
Still your issue is caused by the standard bonnet vent, not the GRS. With the M7 scoop and grills the cooling of the car is vastly improved. The GRS is a far better item overall than the GP when price points are factored in. Even with the m7 Scoop is still about £400 less than the GP item for a better overall performance. The GRS front mount remains the all round best option for the R53 though if you don't mind loosing air con or don't want the faff of meth.

Luckily being made of higher quality aluminium and hand polished moss does not stick to a GRS.
