R53 and R56 exhaust size..

Im in the process of getting an R56 exhaust to fit to my r53 (i have my reasons its not up for debate)

i just need to know, are the standard r56 MCS exhausts the same pipe size and the R53 standard pipe? also, apart from the fact the 53 branches off to miss the battery tray.. will the r56 exhaust line up with the standard r53 pipe once the battery tray has gone?

i cba with fabricating but if it needs to be done... rather know now though lol

Both are 2.25'' IIRC. You might need some customising for the hangers though as im not sure if they line up. Where are you relocating the battery too?

im thinking of getting a race battery, if not i will just stick it in the boot next to the CD changer as i dont use it. then when i sell it stick the battery box back in

The R56 will have a longer pipe and will need a flange welded on for it to mount to the R53 manifold as the CAT's are in different places.

The OEM R56 fJCW exhaust pipe is 2.176" outer diameter (measured), which is about 55.27mm.

just PM'd you bigshow. cheers! defo interested. i will only be using the back box. dont need anything else

so going to sleeve it to centre pipe
