How To: Rear Light De-chrome

Here's a quick guide on how to separate the rear lights. This is a pre-facelift, so may be slightly different on a facelift set.

Carefully remove the foam tape from the edge and rear of the light, and Dremel round the edge where you can see they've been stuck together:

Carefully prise open, Dremeling some more if you haven't cut deep enough:

Locate the 3 or 4 stamped areas round the outside - these will be directly opposite the 4 tabs / holes you can see round the edge of the lens:

...mine only had 3 stamped areas, but some have 4.

Here's my $100 hint

DO NOT DREMEL IT!

I'm not a native speaker and reading this might be very confusing, I'm sorry about that in advance.

Get a sharp (thin bladed!) knife and gently tap it into the glue. Use the handle off an old screwdriver or something not to heavy. When it's in deep enough, use the same handle to gently move the knife through the glue, around the light. Move with the glue so to say.
This way you'll be abled to remove the lens with minimal damage, dremeling would leave you a gap that can need a lot of silicone to fill. Also: I've done this a few times now and I can open two lights in under 15 minutes. Try doing that with a dremel ;)
