Ha, sorry for the lack of picture updates. Wasn't able to get out and take pics at the weekend as was doing stuff + weather was wanketty wank on Sunday. Hopefully this weekend will be better.

Have the flywheel chatter so have been speaking with the warranty company and car is going to the transmission specialist on Tuesday to be diagnosed. Warranty doesn't cover the diagnosis cost so I'm going to be about £75+vat out of pocket as that's the price the transmission specialist has given me :mads:.

They do cover the cost of dismantling though which is inevitable to have a look at the flywheel and clutch. Pretty confident that it will covered by the warranty so will hopefully come out of it with a new clutch and flywheel. Been contemplating FX400 with stock flywheel but been reading mixed reviews on the FX400 in terms of day-to-day use..

FX400 with stock flywheel?
FX400 with the lightweight CM flywheel?

Anyone know the cost of the FX400 with lightweight flywheel compared to stock clutch and flywheel and is getting the warranty company to pay out for uprated, aftermarket parts a possibility?

It should be a ban stick offence to start a project thread without pics, even Nige can post pics now so no-one has an excuse!

If you fit a stock flywheel to an FX400 then your mental, and I will call you a pussy everyday! I've had one for years now commuting every day. The only downside is the idle rattle but it doesn't bother me, most rally cars make the same noise so meh!

Also the pros far outweigh the cons. Better acceleration, pickup, rev's up quicker, better braking (yes braking), better throttle response, and less rotation weight is a huge effect on cars power to weight. The dual mass is wank and not good for performance! Seriously I will let you try mine if it saves you from making such a mistake!

What warranty company is it? PM me if you like. I have a warranty and have a bit of experience with a flywheel claim if you need some advice ;)
White sidelights and clear indicators. Standard procedure.

I'd love to fully de badge mine but dont fancy the cost of respraying the boot and bonnet
Slippery stuff + Sump and Gearbox Dimples.

Cabrio braces going on today too.

Fitted the cabrio braces yesterday...well, more or less.

Absolute PITA, the top screws go in fine and easy enough, but the bottom ones are a bastad! Can't get to the ones on the outside edge of the engine frame, arch liners are in the way. Had to get the lighting/horn etc harness out of the way on the passenger side which involved unbolting one of the aircon purge/refill pipe holders and lighting harness holder which is a bitch in itself due to the awkward angle and lack of space. Going to have to take the arch liners off to get to those last 2 bolts. I'f I'd have known it was this much hassle I would'nt have bothered!

Do they look like they'd foul up an engine removal? Debating whether to weld / rivet them onto mine.
chris more pics of the debage work!!!!!!! pls

I don't personally think they would do looking at their position, I did remember reading somewhere someone mentioned they mightdo though. They're not exactly blocking anything though.
