A new one will set you back £1,523.00 before VAT!

Have you had a look at the Pro Alloy intercooler?

I'd quite like a charge cooler based on a GP core

Are there chargecoolers available for the R53?
Edit: Googled and there’s a few, intrigued now.

The GP core isn't what its cracked up to be IMO esp for the price. Most people picked them in 2010 or so when BMW were selling them new for £270. Loads of folk bought them as at the time it was half the price of a GRS and someone decided it was better than a GRS because of other reasons.

Truth is I'd have a GRS over one every time, I did on my Cooper S I happily paid double for the GRS at the time. We ran them on the dyno back to back and the GP only had a slight edge on recovery time under extreme circumstances.

If you pair a GRS or Airtec with a bigger bonnet scoop from Leap that Orranjie sell you will be far better off than with a GP item. Its also worth noting that Cooper S's have been known to spit spark plugs into intercooler cores. Expensive on a GP one...
