I thought that you folks were already using kilograms:)

But especially the info re. roof glass was interesting. Have been thinking about replacing that w/ polycarbonate some day...btw was it the GLASS ONLY? So on top of that seals, motor, and panels? So all included this is what, close to 50lbs?

It'd be nice to post here all the bits stripped from the cars. So everyone could figure out how much weight can be removed from the car. :thumbup1:

I will be trying to add more bits and then I'll try and put it into some kind of table . And I figured out the scales to KG ( it was on the back )

Oli- cheers for offer but will run with just plastic cap with a flat flap over it .

If anybody thinks of something post up - It's not 100% scientific but near enough as having a poo will make up the fluctuations:eek:hmy:

My $0.02:

Rear bench + Cargo cover: 16.1kg
Rear head rests: 1.8kg
= total 17.9kg
(this is the OEM, NOT leather)

Interior mats: 2.0kg
Jack: 2.0kg

Braille B14115 Carbon Fiber Battery: 5.2kg

Btw if we get this thread really going, it could be perhaps stickied?

We removed the entire unit on one of our earlier cars and I think that it came in at just under 55 lbs.
This is a great thread by the way . Lets all try to contribute.

I cut out the door bars and the inner skin today - it weighed in at 2.55kg per side .

I've ended up putting the Window sliders in but removed the motors and cables etc so now I have my Plastic Windows in - just a few little touches to finish them off as without the motors I need to create a wind deflector and a clip to stop them blowing out

Didn't worry quite so much about my gut at tea !

Sounds epic Nige, you are really going for it!

Do you use yours as a road car too or is it literally built for track now?
