Yep those damn beltline clips, had much the same with mine.

The clips where they enter the body have have very small rubber seals on them, over time where the clips become brittle, move about, break etc they fail to prevent ingress. The rubber washer was nowhere to be seen on a few of mine.

As the clips themselves were OK (just not where they met the body) I ended up two part gluing the affected ones in place, this stopped the leaking good and proper.

I also replaced my high level brake light and made sure the tailgate bump stops were wound right in so that it closed tightly as well.

Although it looks good, lots of bloody poor design on the 1st gen Binis, rear lights much the same for letting into the boot/rust etc.
