Lots of differing opinions as to whether R55 JCW should have had one fitted as standard and if it should, does anyone have a photo?

yes it should, it's only a small triangular trim with three Dzus type fasteners to guard the belt really (one in the subframe, one in the arch liner, one in the rad panel)

I fitted a GP2 undertray to my R56. I had a cheap plastic one before that but it restricted the engine cooling. It keeps the whole engine bay much cleaner and less prone to corrosion. It really should have been fitted from the factory rather than an optional extra.

No, it's pre LCI but the tray fits fine.

Photos of undertray installed on my 2009 JCW....
Creates negative pressure behind the radiator for improved cooling....

Closeup of reinforcement fibers in undertray construction (not carbon fiber twill, something organic like flax fibers if I remember correctly)... Added for strength / stiffness...
