Thanks for the comments, another mod done to the R53, this time RS style Rennline door pulls supplied by Orranje. Super easy to fit and match the rest of the car.

These are listed as cannot be fitted to a Mini with HK, although true you cant fit without modification to the HK door handle surrounds/tweeter covers however these are only fascias and you can swap in stock covers. I had to lose the HK tweeter surrounds but its only the fascia I needed to swap, I still have the HK tweeter behind the standard grills/door handle surrounds.

Then I decided to change things up a little bit with the front end by painting the lower section of the front bumper, hadnt seen it done in a while so gave it a go, need to round a couple of edges off but not bad for a first attempt:

Didnt get around to taking any pics of the car with the bumper fitted as it was so close to MITP, will get some better pics taken soon:

Then finally I tried painting the R53 beltline with satin paint, not sure how long it will last but sick of the stupid tape always have some floor with it.

Could have done with prepping the chrome more before paint however I havent lost anything if I have to rub it down and repaint if it doesn't last, its lasted a month and a half so far with a few washes and a pressure washer, will report back after 6 months to see if I would do anything differently on this one

Yeah, nice work as always, been watching some of your updates on the tube.
Definitely Iike the choice to paint the vents.... And the tail lights complement the back nicely

Thats ok, I dont take offence, we all like different things. Im still not 100% sold on it either however it was painted straight on top of the gloss, so easily removed if I decide I dont like it in the future

I purchased the car Feb 2016, seems like an age ago now

It's been way too long since there was an update on this car. Its been unloved with two other projects on the go. So I've decided to start tidying up a few things, starting with the G-Wing. Now you may be thinking I already have one, and yes I do, however I have a pre-production one fitted to the car as I was helping the guys out doing some testing of the last lot of revisions they were doing a few years ago when I was building the R53. Although it looked the part in pictures it wasn't the best close up as it wasn't the finished article.

So I decided to order a production version of the Orranje G-Wing direct from Oli. I know there are other versions out there from other companies that may be cheaper, but trust me Orranje were the original creators of the GP rep wing and you can see the improvements they have made over the years to refine it to the product it is today.

I decided to do an unboxing video so if you are interested in one, you can see exactly what you get from Orranje and the quality of not only the parts but the fitting kit etc. There will be a follow up fitting video this weekend for those interested too:

Hi all, this video has just gone live on my youtube channel, if you get 5 mins, feel free to check it out. I walk you around my R53, covering the history of the car and mod list:

Thanks for the How-To's!
Gave me the courage to dremel away what was long overdue. Joey'd the tails. Actually, a bud did the cutting. Twas was too painful to watch.
It did not turn out as perfect as yours, had to cheat w/ a coat or 2 of VHT Nightshade around the edges to hide some see-thru sealant.. I hope the final seal was enough to ward off condensation.
