Rich's Turbo did fail in qualifying but as it has been mentioned it's quite old now and was due to be replaced anyways.

I was mid 148's in practice and knew I could make up a lot more time if the weather stayed. Qualifying went well but my passenger window blew out on the straight going over the mountain due to the hatch being closed so lost concentration.

Snetterton should be better as I'm trying to get more practice in as all of these tracks I've never done before. My biggest problem is theirs no track days available on weekends as I'm at work during the week. Fingers crossed something pops up. The car ran almost faultless apart from a throttle position sensor error which screwed up a lap but easily sorted.

Huge thanks to Tom & Scott at 1320Mini who were their with us giving us advice and checking the cars over after each stint.
Explains why he only did 3 laps then.

Like I said before, it's the first round and it takes time to get into the groove. Your car's should really haul ass at Snetterton as it's a power track so should suit you well.

Good to hear the reliability is there too as to be fair that counts for a lot over the season as others drop away. In hindsight I would have given up 75bhp for reliability.

It give up the ghost just as he was crossing the start finish straight as he did his quickest lap of the day. Rich has now ordered some Hard compound tyres ahead of Snetterton so he should be fine on those.

Myself i'm currently changing my brand of tyres as i found my tyres went away after 2-3 hot laps so moving over to the Avon ZZR's to give them a try. I'm looking at a track evening at present which isn't the best but it may help to just get my eye in ahead of Round 2 and some extra seat time so my confidence in the new suspension set up grows.

I was gutted i missed out on a podium place but it can't be helped and i'll bounce back as i'm sure Rich will.

Jealous - always wanted to try the Avon's but had already done a deal on the Federal's. From the research I did the Avon's were supposed to be right at the top.

For sure you will - testing wise are there any airfield days that are on Saturdays? Or contact Dave at open track as he may have contacts that can help.

I'm going to keep the Avon's for qualifying and Finals so use the Kumho's for warm up and practice, i hear they are much better and last longer.

Bedford have a couple but it's very basic compared to the like of Cadwell, i may drop Dave a message if i haven't found anything by the end of next week to see what he may have coming up.

Cheers Tim

I understand your reasons but personally I'd stick with the same tyres throughout the day so you can get them dialled in so by qually you're on the perfect settings.

What PSI were you running and what temp did they reach?
I know we were trying to get them to settle at 28psi after a couple of hot laps but the temps i'm unsure on as i left this to the 1320 guys :)

I'll try and find out some more information on that.

As for running the same set of tyres you may be right but i'll probably go for a new set in qualifying and finals.

I'm pretty sure he did miss Cadwell
Having just looked at the data again, one thing stood out from 2010, how consistently high your trap speed was on the main straight at Cadwell with a best of 116.9mph but pretty much always in the 116mph range which shows how powerful your MINI was back as that's 0.3 mph off Richards turbo MINI in 2012 and 1 mph off in 2015. The MC MINI with the bigger supercharge ran 118mph and 1320's with Adam plus NOS ran 111 mph!
