Putting this out there in the event anyone's after a v tidy, low mile late model R53. I'm not desperate to sell so would only go to the right home, for the right money assuming I don't decide to keep it.

The details....

June 2006 build (06 plate) in Hyper Blue w/ White roof and mirror caps

Black Gravity/Panther Leather/Cloth sports seats with black carpet and White roof lining.

Chilli pack w/ Manual AC
LSD
Sun Protection Glass
Bullet alloys recently refurbished in BMW Orbit Grey
Passenger airbag deactivation switch
Factory carpet mats in excellent order with OEM securing clips on drivers side

I purchased the car locally in April 2019 having hankered after a decent R53 for some years. The previous owner bought the car in Sept 2015 from Abbot and Sons, a local BMW Mini specialist in Brighton @ 59k miles

The car was very well cared for during those years and know the car has the following

Regular servicing
One or two ABS sensors, possibly a wheel bearing
A new Remy Delco alternator
A new Coolant tank
New OE dipstick
New battery
New cam chain and all associated ancillaries at Chandler's Mini Hailsham in 2017 c. 12k ago @ c. £800 cost

Since I've owned the car I've had the following maintenance carried out

Inspection II using genuine service kit, Fuchs 5w30 LL04 spec oil, brake fluid change, Vaico Fuel Filter and gearbox oil change using correct spec Redline MTL, handbrake adjusted, Xenon pump @ 80k - July 2019

4 wheel alignment and 2 new Hankook RFT rear tyres (all matching 205/45 R17 88W RFT's with stacks of tread, Jinyu Gallopro on front currently) - August 2019

Brand new Milltek non res catback exhaust and Pipercross drop in filter - August 2019

Supercharger service @ 82k incl. KAVS interference fit 15% pulley, NGK BKR7EQIP plugs and Gates 1368 length belt, Water pump, crank and dipstick O rings also changed - March 2020

Replacement OE Coil Pack, OE coolant tank and brake fluid caps - May 2020

Oil and filter service (Motul 5w40 this time) incl. pollen filter, AC re-gas/clean, PCV valve, oil pressure sensor, aux belt tensioner, idler pulley and replacement Contitech 1360 length belt, new TMAP sensor to manifold vac pipe, Helix short shift fitted, PU upper engine mount fitted (to replace factory spec oil filled unit prone to failing....will probably outlive the car) @ 82.5k - July 2020

In terms of improvements I've carried out the following:-

Wheels refurbished

Genuine Mini Sport antenna to replace whip antenna

New OEM 3rd brake light and boot handle gasket

New OEM front wiper arms and aero wiper blades

New OEM rear wiper blade

New passenger side fog light (old one worked but one of the securing tabs had broken)

New OEM gearknob

New Italian leather gearlever and handbrake boots (look better than OEM)

New OEM black handbrake lever

New OEM 12v socket with OEM plastic bung (old one was a bit used and didn't want to have the cigar lighter)

Auto dimming rear view mirror retrofitted

Both sunvisors replaced (so fully working with mirror flaps and vanity lights etc)

Both bulbs in heater panel replaced (one had blown and I couldn't bear it.....a tricky job and one I would not much fancy doing again!)

Door speakers replaced with JBL Stage 602c 6.5" one way speakers from component set, retaining factory tweeters using proper adaptor plates and wiring harnesses (car already has a professionally fitted Sony CD/USB/Bluetooth/DAB head unit with phone and streaming functionality).

Dark grey domed vinyl Mini badge overlay on airbag (looks better than stock badge IMHO but could be easily removed)

Both rear brake/sidelight and number plate lamps (both Osram) and reversing lamps (Phillips) replaced.

Think that about covers it :ROFLMAO:

As with any 14 year old car there are a couple of negatives.....

The paintwork is generally amazing but it does have some stonechips and a couple of minor dings in the sides from parking etc.

Also the rear 3/4 on the passenger side has started bubbling just the tiniest amount under the rear light a common problem...I've attempted a very basic temporary repair on it but it's come back again so will need some attention. I would include some professional Paint, lacquer and etch primer with the car for someone who fancies fixing themselves. My intention would be to get it properly seen to if I keep the car but it's so minor at this point it's rather unwarranted.

It has a bit of noise coming from the aux belt area which I plan to have investigated....it's done it since I've had the car and am sure it's nothing sinister.

Might need some new brake pipes at some stage (picked up as an advisory on MOT but I know they aren't bad)

Otherwise the car is absolutely A1....I don't doubt anyone who came to see it would be amazed at how genuine the car is. Car would come with 2 fully working remote keys, original Mini handbook pack with service book (with 10 stamps) and a wodge of paperwork.

Drives beautifully and always starts on the button even if left for some days. No warning lights and everything on the car down to the rear wiper and xenon washers work as you would expect.

Would be looking for around 4k...some might think this is a bit pricy but for a good one like this it seems to be about the right money given its condition, level of maintenance and mileage.....in any case if it doesn't raise the right amount it wouldnt be sold but I'm a fair fella and would be open to sensible offers.

Will post some pics soonest ...

Taken the car for a few spirited drives the last few evenings and have decided that I am most likely not going to part with it. The car is too good and too much fun to part with...certainly I wouldn't be giving it away.

That said, I am still open to very sensible offers.....never say never and all that.....

Keep it, it’s obviously worth more to you than anyone else (mine is the same). Buyers don’t appreciate or want to pay for modifications and well cared for cars, they see sh1t heaps for £1k and that’s what they expect to pay.

Yeah I agree Keith, 100% mate.

Sadly most people don't really yet appreciate condition and originality as you say, rather just after a cheap thrill or something to track but I think the tides are turning as good, relatively unmolested cars (or those that can be easily reverted to stock) get rarer.

So sadly my personal circumstances look to be taking a bit of a turn so the Mini does need to go.

The previous pricing was down to me not being in any rush to sell but as things stand I'll offer it out to all on here for what I feel is a reasonable price for a quick sale. £3250 and am open to sensible offers.

Cheers matey, a bit gutted but it's the right thing to be doing.

Yeah I don't plan on going under 3250 TBH, a relative deal at that money as it stands in my humble opinion.......not desperate at all just do want to encourage a quicker sale as I'll just end up SORNing it otherwise.....rather someone else got to enjoy it and keep on improving it 👍👍

Would love to mate but I have three young kids so need a family wagon.

I will miss it but at the end of the day it is just a bit of tin that can be replaced when circumstances allow 👍

Hi pipsys,

Having some issues with the PM system, but all your comments around insurance / test drives etc are perfectly fine.

If you could pm me the reg, and I should be able to arrange a time to pop down in the next few days.

Regards,

Steven

Hi,

Yes, all received fine - think the PM problems were as a result of being a new member.

Had a few questions, so will PM them through to you.

Regards,

Steven

I had some interest in the car and was expecting it to be viewed next week but sadly the chap has decided it is not for him.

I'm therefore probably going to stick it on Autotrader for a bit for a bit more money though if anyone on here comes forward wanting to do a quick transaction I will still probably let it go for 3250 if I've had no further interest at that point 👍
