Hello,

I'm looking to replace the 3 rear windows on my JCW with the factory tinted glass. Has anyone replaced their non tinted glass with OEM factory tinted glass?

I'm not a fan of aftermarket tints where film is applied.

Id guess £600 -£800 with my part foc

Is worth considering removing sides applying film and refitting, or using the oem snap in blinds
And just get tinted rear replacement to keep costs sensible

Cheers for the suggestions. I think I'm definitely gonna have to go down the factory privacy glass route. I've had a few quotes north side of 500

Why not try the OEM blinds ! They fit up against the glass on the inside and give the tinted look ! I have them with privacy glass and makes it look really dark.

That’s the blinds fitted but with privacy glass


Randomly I don’t have many side shots to use as a good comparison. If I’m in early enough tomorrow I’ll get some comparison pics for you

Been using the factory blinds for a few years, look just like rear tints from the outside.

I like them, I’m just not sure I’ve seen them on normal glass, so I can’t comment how they look in comparison

They look spot on. I have factory tints but have been considering fitting them to darken things even more

Any idea on a price for the factory blinds to fit an R53?

No idea. R56 look to be about £60 a set

I’m sure there’s a company that make them aftermarket. I’m sure a pall got some for a clubbie, if that’s the case then there’s no reason why you couldn’t get them for the R50/R53

The sky was a little grey and dull so not the best of examples but gives a good impression especially when you look through the rear window and through the front passenger window
