Morning all,
I've been trying to fathom a way of charging my spare key fob, more conveniently, out of the car. I've read that charging a fully discharged fob, takes around 30 hours!
Now, I've read that some people use a toothbrush induction charger, others use a smart watch/phone charger pad.
Do any of you know a solution?
I was considering buying an R56 second hand start/stop button (pictured) and connecting this to a 12v power supply.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I've used a toothbrush charger and it does put SOME charge into the fob (enough to get you out of trouble if it is completely dead) but it isn't a long term solution.

Yeah, I've seen the tutorials on YouTube. I'd still like to be able to recharge them, out of the vehicle.
For me, it's a little bit of 'peace of mind' knowing my fob's won't let me down (due to lack of charge) at an inconvenient time!

so sorry for the blonde question but how do you recharge it with a toothbrush charger?How do you connect it?

Plug in the charger and lay the key on top of it, simples.

I have a wireless charger for my OralB toothbrush and tried it...Nothing happened..
Didnt even manage to open the car once!
Choice of opening the keyfob and replacing the battery is something that i would like to avoid if there is any other option even put the key on a charger for days..

So is there anyway that you can charge it without opening the key? But charge it for real not for like 10-30uses
