Hi, my first post here.

I keep getting an engine warning light come up and my Mini specialist has said it's claiming to be an issue with the fuel pump. They're reluctant to go ahead with swapping it out as there are no other symptoms as yet. They said just monitor it which seems fair enough.

The thing is that every time I start the car I get the light come up before it disappears on the digital speedo area, only to remain on the main dial speedo in the middle.

I'd like to get a code reader that can clear this when it happens. Is this very easily done? Any recommendations appreciated.

Thanks

It can be difficult to diagnose the fuel pump until you get some definite symptoms. I've got a BlueDriver code reader and I'm really happy with it. You can use it for data logging too which is very handy. BlueDriver Scan Tool | BlueDriver

Get an odb reader...Check your idle fuel pressure (must be close to 700psi stable and not jumbing around ). Up to 2000psi when you push it hard. HPFP are always showing their symptoms early enough for you to change them.
