Hi,

I've got a totally standard 2006 cooper S 1.6 turbo. I'm going to use it for track day(s) and I want some brakes that aren't going to give up and ruin the fun. I don't need the absolute best I just want something track focussed and built to last. With this in mind:

if I buy performance pads, do I need performance oriented disks, perhaps even drilled etc?, if not are any run of the mill disks that are well built?
should I do front and back disks and pads?
which pads? yellow stuff, ferodo of some description? mintex?
I don't know if my car has 294 or 280mm disks either

any help and recommendations would be appreciated, what would you buy with this remit? as I say I don't need the cream of the crop as I don't want to spend the earth as I'm not timing myself or anything, but likewise I don't want rubbish brakes :) .

cheers

you only need standard plain discs really, you might get through them very slightly faster but they're cheap enough

you'll have 294mm
