Just checking before I start swapping my front discs and pads, I think I've cooked the dust boots on my JCW calipers so got a refurb kit - Is it possible to swap the dust boots over without having to take the whole caliper off and popping the pistons out?

Ideally just like a warning before getting stuck halfway and whipping them off on a Sunday before needing it for work on Monday!

Pic because why not

The trick is getting the inner lip of the boot into the groove of the caliper. With the piston fully pressed in there maybe enough room to remove the old boot and fit the new one. The problem lies in that when the piston is pumped out it can catch the boot lip and drag it back out. But if you have cooked the boot the brake fluid may have got a bit warm and require some fresh down there, so pop the piston and have a good clean up of the caliper.
