At the moment i'm still on the standard suspension set up , with 17s
The last we weeks my car's handling at low speeds seems to be a little off, it feels a bit like i have a flat tyres, it feels as if the steering is being pulled a little 1 way then a little back the other way. It mostly does it on uneven road surfaces, when i first noticed it i thought it was to do with camber changes on the road surface, but i've noticed it more and more recently.

I've swapped the fronts and back wheels over to rule out a wheel being out of balance, and I've tried adjusting the tyres pressures up and down, i'm going to take it to a garage to get the wheels aligned but i am wondering what else it could be

I'm wondering what else it could be,
power steering pump starting to go?
any other common handling problems?

Could it even be Summer tyres on Winter roads?
This is the first hot hatch I've owned, so not that sure what to expect

when you do your bushes do everything else as it would have exacerbated the wear on all the ball joints. it will drive like new after new inner & outer ball joints, track rods and poly wishbone bushes

How much are bushes to replace?

nice everyone saying bushes, guess it's a very common issue

i'll see if i can have a look into fitting them myself but i doubt they're easy to do, but £144 fitted doesn't sound too bad, could of been a lot worse, although it does mean i changed my wheels round in the rain for nothing

It's a really good price, plus while you're waiting you can take out one of their courtesy modified MINI's to give you some inspiration in the future for things you might want to change on yours. Don't know how far Portsmouth is from Scaynes Hill though.

any vendor who drops the subframe to fit them alone is robbing you of £100 more in labour imo, if the subframe comes out you should also do the ARB and Steering ones and the ball joints.

also stock suspnesions and stock 17's will be 50% of all issues.

Also get genuine parts for the ball joints. I have just had a non oem track rod fail after only one year which is a bit annoying. Replacing with oem now.
