Hi guys. New to this forum after purchasing a couple of cooper s's. Love the classicness with a modern feel.
Recently changed an engine over from a damaged car to a car with broken engine. But have had a constant issue with the clutch.
Its in a garage run by a mini specialist but after a new clutch was ordered specific to the model by registration id the clutch just would'nt seem to bleed up to the correct level. Its had all the gaskets changed, the master cylinder changed, pipes pressure tested, but it still doesnt work. After just 1 day the clutch starts to go spongy and then to a point where you're unable to change gear!!!
It does work fine for a few hours but thats it. Starting to get to the endofmy teather wth it now. Got a few extra parts to go onto it, but not doing anything else until this issue is sorted.
Does anybody have any ideas what the problem is
TIA
Mick

Have you had a good look at the slave cylinder? The piston is easily knocked in installation & can weep fluid away. Sure you've done it already but worth a mention. Good luck.
