R50 Cooper - Battery Vent Routing

Hi Folks,

I have an 01 R50 Cooper that has an after-market battery with both vent holes plugged.

While I haven't removed the battery yet, where does the vent pipe route to?

I've had a quick look and can't see the vent pipe at all. If its not there, it can of course be easily replaced. I just want to know where it should run.

Doesn't the r50 have its battery under the bonnet? If so I don't think it needs a vent tube as it vents out to the bonnet. Or is yours diesel?

Thanks for the reply.

It's a petrol and the battery is indeed under the bonnet.

I've seen some guides that show the vent tube leaving the battery. Where it routes to I do not know

It just comes out and down the side of the battery box iirc
