As a lot of you will recognise, this is Dave's JCW that i bought around christmas time. Thought it was time to introduce myself and make a thread. No mods yet as im still a student at uni (final year though..!) and need to keep it running on minimal cash over the next few months.

Heres some photos anyway.

Perhaps when im settled in work next year i will make it a bit faster, change the seats and brakes, but im only really just getting used to the nice power increase. my old car was a mini 1 litre and it was owned my my mum so its a pretty big change!!

Oh heres a pic of my old mini that is now dead, gave loads of parts to my brothers mate as the shell was starting to rust so my mum scrapped it for a hyundai!! It was a real wolf in sheeps clothing, breaking down all the time, looked the part but had been rebuilt badly.

Not gonna lie, the S-spokes look sweet on it. Did Dave put JCW dampers with Eibachs on it? Can't remember.

You got a great car there, was Dave's pride and joy, really looked after it.

Now thats a tasty car !!!!! :thumbup1: Still looking bang tidy too pal :D

yeh jcw suspension with the eibach springs, the rides "firm" to say the least but i love it lol
They are H&R springs Pete ;)

What you need will be:

- seats (agree, stock seats are beyond pants but they do a job while you save) - R56 JCW seats = WIN

- Brakes (stockers are shockers but again do a job while you save, and will be better than what you were used to !!) - R53 JCW / R56 S brakes = WIN

- wheels (i do too quite like those on the car, being lower does help, but new ones will help your freakishly good mpg's even more !) - I recon you should get some rota Blitz in silver. KingJames has a set that he is going to be getting shot of soon - drop him a PM as he is up for a deal and you could swap your tyres over to the new wheels too = WIN WIN.

Looking great dude, enjoy ! :)

:crying: Golf=loss, that ^= win...

Power wise hows about:

- Intercooler. JCW GP IC always did well on that car.

- Manifold. Mixed results with the Janspeed :p I was going to put a JCM mani on it - I know where one is if you want it ;)

Then its just whether you want to go all in and get 550s, maybe a 16% pulley and a mynes tune (the pulley is optional as the 11% is still boosting well from the last test I had done on it)....

People will be telling you to drop it on coils - if you have the money it may well be worth a try, especially if you find a set in good condition. Just bear in mind that the suspension currently on the car has about 1.5years on the shocks and ~10months on the springs so nearly new really...

Wish I hadnt sold it... ::getcoat::

Also, don't put cheap petrol in it. It needs v-power! ;)
That was advised as part of the 'briefing pack' that came with the sale... It also included spare foam for the IC, ATI damper stickers and box, spare aerial plus a few other things - oh and shoudl include an auto up module from mario but ive missplaced it for now (again), will be sending it through when i find it pete ;)

lol thanks dave, ive been putting tesco 99 in and vpower every now and again (ie when someone else is paying rofl). What will the advantage be of putting coils on it over this suspension?

I never tried it but it will let you go lower and should improve the ride - I will let those who have explain more ;)

I would focus on the wheels first though as changing the coils will mean you will need other parts to compliment the coils (adjustable control arms etc) so wheels or power first IMO...

Tesco 99 is good enough dude - I only used V-Power for the airmiles !!
