nice thread; just keep the Imola's (the best OEM wheel of all time and just 5.45kg!)

I look forward to the day when you get a new engine, LSD and gearbox!

Really gutted to see the Borbet's sold now as I thought they looked great on your Mini Martijn :(

There's a few places in the UK that sell the Kosei rims so might be cheaper than getting them sent from the US???? I haven't checked the whole range but might be what you want.....

Decided to clean my air filter yesterday, it's been on the car for about 25,000 miles now... I expected it to be dirtier, good think I took a before/after pic:

(left before, right after)

Luckily I chose the 'dry' aFe filter when I got it, so don't have to re-oil it. Dried it for a day and fitted it again. Gonna have the oil + filter changed tomorrow so should be good for a while again... :D

Visited my favorite MINI-specialist (ASE Auto Spenkelink in Enschede) today, to do the following stuff:
- Goodridge braided brake lines
- flushed/filled brake system with ATE Super Blue Racing
- adjustable endlinks front/rear
- checked the front coilovers
- replaced the windshield washer pump

Because pictures improve everything:

Very convenient location for the washer pump:

A little more bite to the brakes (already had Ferodo DS2500 pads). The drive home was over boring straight roads, so havn't had a chance to feel any difference in cornering yet.

Love this thread!! Photos do make everything much better ::popcorn::

You put some proper effort into this!
How has the platidip held up? Iv always been skeptical on it as I can imagine it peeling and chipping easily.

Lets start of with a some explanation: I'm not one to copy another persons style (that's why I went with the 17" Borbet A before), but had my mind set on lighter and smaller wheels. The Borbet's looked great, but were heavy and I experienced quite some tram lining. Switching to 15" winter wheels confirmed my findings, the car felt much better.

I had my mind set on 949 6UL's, but they always seem to be unavailable. :( Then professor came up with these… Perfect specs for me (15x8 ET25, 6.3kg), affordable and more importantly: available! I can understand him being not too pleased with other people running off with his ideas, but his car has always been a huge inspiration to me. Not saying that I wanna copy his car 1:1, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right? ;) The wheels costed me more in shipping and import duties than their actual price, but oh well…

Here are some pics of the results to get started:

This week my tyres finally arrived by mail, Hankook V12 EVO in 205/50-15. Should handle well on lighter cars, especially in the wet, what I find quite important:

Of to a befriended tyre fitter! :D

And after that to my sweet father-in-law, who helped me out as usual. :)

Cut of some of the plastic fender up front. Might not be necessary, but just to be sure:

The rear needed a little more work. Removed the plastic trim and cut of some of the fender liner (not yet done in this pic):

I don't think it'll hit the metal, but again, just to be sure hammered the lip out a little:

Cut the edge of the plastic trim:

Put some black Hamerite on the hub instead of the rust:

Work in progress:

Also had a set of headlight rings painted, stuck on a black belt line and fitted a GP trunk handle. ;)

And what do you do after finishing up? Right, meet up with a MINI-mate at McDonalds. :p

Of course with the intention to shoot some pics, that I'll dump here. His car is not quite done, his GP front bumper is currently at the painter and a GP wing will follow soon:
