This is the update thread for next years cars...

Following on from this years result in Time Attack we want to build a team that can compete with the very best FWD cars entering in 2011, there will be no bitching or moaning about competing against teams with bigger budgets or those that enter ex-touring cars, we won't discriminate against any team, we want to kick everyone's arse.

However, to do this we're really going to have to step up our game both in terms of pace, handling and testing to ensure our team will be fast but reliable because next years entrants will be some of the fastest FWD's in Time Attacks history.

Having finished 2nd this season, anything less than 1st will not be good enough otherwise what's the point and I know this view is shared with all the other MINI entries as with MTR 2nd this year and Nigel 3rd, what's the point in pushing for the same again when we've already done it.

So to help us reach our goals we're working with some of the very best suppliers in the aftermarket business and having built great relationships with key sponsors this year on the agreement that if we finished 3rd or better in 2010 we could count on their support in 2011. Some of these may surprise you, some won't.

However, this will be very much a team effort with everyone who works with us coming under the MiniTorque Racing banner with one goal at the forefront of our minds.

In the next few months we will announce more details on our team via this thread but from a performance point of view they will revolve around key factors:

Power
Aerodynamics
Grip
Weight

Let the fun begin.

^agreed. there's no point making a big thread with no details and loads of "bigging up"
No bigging up, our aim last season was to finish 3rd and we ended up finishing 2nd so all we can aim for is 1st next year and fastest FWD, that aint bigging it up, we're not saying we'll wave as we pass you on the straight Rich, that's more your style and I'm sure it will happen when it all comes together for you. But for us the key is concentrating on bringing together a package that can meet our goals we've set for ourselves which will no doubt evolve as time passes.

We've been burnt in the past by saying we'll go in one direction and its fallen apart due to circumstances outside our control therefore we're working on a plan that allows the team to evolve as new partners come under the MTR banner so that if one partner drops by the wayside for whatever reason, the team as a whole won't be affected and can still carry on unaffected. We've learnt from this year not to put all our eggs in one basket in both TA and MT in general. So from now on everyone will sign up to a team plan and work together to make it a reality, therefore everyone knows where they are and there are no surprises that cause issues.

It's going to be a hell of a year :cools:
my brain hurts, please speak english
Sure, I'll stick up the information on the thread when the parts are on the car and working, until then it's just theory, you of all people should know that it doesn't matter what should work in theory, if it doesn't work when its on the car, then its about as useful as a bag of broken arseholes.
... which varient?
Looking forward to seeing what you guys have been/are working on :thumbup1: Next year's going to be epic :w00t:
Got to be an r56 i reckon!
Got to be an r56 i reckon!
I will be suprised if it is an R56.Now a big turbo on an R53 would not suprise me lol
First place is sorted any way its seems every one else is just there to make the numbers up lol

lee
My guess is r53 still ... Who says more power is needed?

Handling tweaks FTW

It's not all about about raw power Lee! Never under estimate the handling advantage you get with the R56 over the R53. 300bhp R56 weighing less than 1000kgs might be a bit tasty! Say no more:lol::lol:
Has team MT kidnapped Andrey & Emma and appointed Nige as weight saving engineer
