Alright, I was able to use the empty Autobahn for a few logs for my Tuner.

I thought that it may be interesting to look at, for a few people.

Some of the logs are visualised with graphs.

Full Boost starts at 3k rpm at 2.00 bar/29 psi and ends at the limiter at around 1.65-1.70 bar /24-24.5 psi.

Boost threshold is at 2800 to 3000 rpm which is quite good for an engine with small displacement.

It's clearly visible that the fuel pump, at low rpms, isn't able to keep up the pressure at full boost. The stft are at around +10%. After 5k rpm the pump does deliver enough pressure. So the stft are now at -10/-12%.

The car runs really rich, like Jeff Bezos rich. The afr meter stops reading at lambda 0.55

The timing does look really great, climbing up to 10 degrees.

The limiter right now is set to 7.1k rpm.

I curious to see how the car will run after the next ecu file.

I also collected info about the Opel injectors:

-E85 capable
-working up to 350 bar
-around ~1400cc flow @ 100 bar
-can support 500+ hp with pump gas (depending if the hpfp flows enough)
-Can be used for minis and vw tfsi engines as upgrade
-part number: 0 261 500 112

Great project! I like a stock looking engine bay. Are you sitting at around 1 degree ignition advance when the turbo hits full boost and climbing to 10 degrees at the limiter? I can't quite make out the numbers on your graph. Thanks

Great project! I like a stock looking engine bay. Are you sitting at around 1 degree ignition advance when the turbo hits full boost and climbing to 10 degrees at the limiter? I can't quite make out the numbers on your graph. Thanks

Are you data logging on the road and getting someone to do the mapping remotely? I've done that but it's time consuming and a little nerve wracking (we have speed limits in the UK) What are you using for det detection?

Exactly, iam logging with ScanXl with a bit obd dongle and my netbook. The programm also detects knock.

The guys from revlimit greece do the mapping. Fotis from revlimit is a legit guy. It's difficult to find someone who can change maps. Most just sell ots files.

In Germany it's not a big deal doing that kind of speeds on the Autobahn as its legal.

Is that just using the stock knock sensor or have you installed an extra one? What kind of refresh rate do you get with the ScanXI? The resolution on my set up is about every 0.4 seconds when you're looking at 5 channels and I suspect it's limited by how fast the ECU can push the data out.

That's fast. I might need to look at getting something like that. Mine can only get down to 0.3 seconds of you reduce it to 3 channels or less. Can you listen to the knock with headphones or is it just indicated on the computer screen?

No it's displayed in the software. It's not bad but it's missing vital things like the waste gate duty cycle. So we are guessing at how much the turbo has to offer.

If someone has a better software for logging iam all ears!

My AccessPort can log up to 20 out of 80 different OBD signals. Refresh rate is 3 - 4 lines of 20 signals per minute. Not necessary to use the AP maps and it's fully functional for resetting ECU, reading / clearing codes, and monitoring any one signal while driving. Downside is, you gotta download the log to a computer to read it. Been using mine since 2011.

He is a GREAT guy and from what i see-understand from NAM's forum as well he might be the the man who knows that good MINI ECU. He got an R59 him self.!

The project ain’t dead/finished yet!

The power output wasn’t as expected, the engine had brutal torque for a 2 seconds then the power dropped considerably.

A very important part for a turbo engine I completely overlooked is the intercooler.

Was car had a forge one from the previous owner which worked a bit with the stock turbo but it was far from good.

It has shitty end tanks, small volume and tiny ports for the air.

It also seems that it is super restrictive for my current setup.

A big restriction between the turbo and intercooler increases the pressure ratio and makes the compressor work in a less efficient area. It’s also stresses the turbo. For the turbo to make 2 bar of boost in the manifold it probably does 2.2 or more pressure to reach the target.

I also had after only a few seconds WOT intake temperatures of 70 to 80 degrees C with ambient temperatures being at 0 to -5 degrees C. Completely mental.

So a bigger and better intercooler it is.

Iam also adressing other things that had to be done:
-faulty watercooler
-complete renewal and upgrade of the brakes
-oil change
-spark plugs
-new coils
