Yeah I know but I prefer to keep it to BMW Parts. Why? I think from memory its Texaco MT-90 or something or other. Not easy to get hold of which is why people use different brands. As long as its the same GL rating (GL4) and viscosity its fine. Hence why i suggested Redline MTL as a lot of people use it including me and love it.
I know if you have the dif like my JCW you need to put MTF 94 in. BMW only sell this in 5 gallon units and it costs a fortune from them. Do what I did ad go to your local LandRover dealer, they use it for the old freelander or something. 1Lt container about £7. Part number is STC 9158. You'll need about 1.5lt I think.Yeah I know but I prefer to keep it to BMW Parts.
On BMW System its showing either MTF 94 or MTF-LT-1, MTF-LT-2 or MTF-LT-3
Anyway I can find what oil it has
Its a 53 Reg
I remember someone mentioning the landrover thing too but they were after oil for the Midlands 5-spd. Not sure if those and the Getrag 6-spd's use the same oil. I wouldn't have thought so.I know if you have the dif like my JCW you need to put MTF 94 in. BMW only sell this in 5 gallon units and it costs a fortune from them. No you dont, SMX S is just finebe carefull, if you have a LSD you need to get Texaco MTF-94! not sure bout a non LSD tbh.
If you need MTF-94 you can get it from Landrover as ****** said (Part Number STC 9158) in 1lts bottles (BMW only sell it in a 5Gl container go figure!!). and yeah 2lts will do her grand (again as ****** said)
Keep her lit, and between the ditches

because its red and noticeably improved the cooper's midlandsHow can you love a tranny oil haha.
I've used this too, £7 litre from GSF.I've just swapped out my gearbox oil for Carlube MTF94 which is what BMW use for the Mini. Can't tell much difference just yet but not had a "spirited" drive as yet. Bought on an auction site for a great price and delivered next day.
Was a simple job once I had the car up and level on the axle stands.
