Guess these are somewhat like other aftermarket options for the R53, so need electric water pump etc (as the Mini specific M45 has a unique PTO gearing to drive a mechanical water pump of course).
I understand Mercedes used these chargers on the Kompressor SLK Mercs, earlier cars had M62's (and were very tunable) whereas later cars got the M45 (and were less so)....kind of makes sense this being a good fit for the R53
