Hi all, have had my r53 mcs for just a few months now and have been reading about the low speed fan issues and wonder if my fan is working ?

I've noticed when in traffic a fan starts up which I assumed was the power steering fan as I can feel slight vibration under my feet, the fan is rough sounding (aircon not switched on) and I have another fan to replace it with but does the low speed fan kick in at the same time ? Going back some weeks ago when we had 30 + degree temperatures (yes we did ) I got home from work after being in heavy traffic and when I got out of the car the high speed fan kicked in and continued to run for around 2-3 minutes, I didn't think this was a problem as my daughters r56 has done the same.

Can't help but I'm interested in the answers, I've just acquired some resistors in case my low speed fan is shot.

Got my green resistors from Amazon, got home early on Friday to make a start.
Made up a nice ally bracket and pop riveted the resistor to the bracket, put heat shrink over the soldered connections I made
