It will be better than the JCW but not seen any figures on it myself, not sure if anyone on here has one? Be good to see what it can do, from memory I think its a Cosworth head but could be wrong, sure Emma will come on to confirm.

the larger valves will work.. too big and you will lose some low end for some top end. as for results... surly someone has this combo?? yes??

Just me.............................................

Thumper

PS I ship free to the UK, and maybe just a bit more for Italy.. however if you know some good Italian food in the usual 'tourist places' ( Rome-Venice-Pisa-Pompeii- Sicily).. I will be there in June next year.. and can will / ship to you free!!

does anyone have the lohen performance head??
considering this or the thumper1or2
ive got a catcam 550s and 1320 tune
what would be best for a daily driver i have a stock jcw head at the moment and if i fitted either of the above would a retune be recommended or will it run ok on the previous map and would i require a ported intake manifold for full benefits im trying to gain as much info as possible before i make up my mind thanks.

We did a back to back dyno here with a car with that head vs a car with the RMW Jesus head and cam, both were on 440cc injectors the RMW head made the most power and was generally smoother through the whole rev range. IMO the RMW head is still the best head on the market for the R53 by a long long way.

Are you sure about that?

I am asking, because I did NOT USE RMW head when we broken 260WHP. :)

Yes im sure, the chap is asking for a comparison between the two as a package you can buy off the shelf from a tuner the RMW head is the best value for money imo, it has consistency in all the cars that have used it it has clocked a lot of mileage for a tuned head and has great resale value, theres plently of cars in America that have broken 260 whp with it too from memory.

But as you know WHP and dyno numbers do not always give a true picture of a cars abilities, Tristo beat your 260 whp time with only 237 whp, Jove went faster at brands hatch with 170 bhp than Lee and Richard did with 370 bhp.

Really, after all that he cant make more whp than a tuned m45 or an R56 with a fucked turbo, anyone who thinks of going big turbo would be mental too then.

The quality and brand used in terms of valves is just as important as the size too, maybe not in terms of performance but...

Shrick valves are of very high quality hence why they brag about them. :)

Schrick valvetrain components are the best quality of all in general. And ofcourse the quality of the valves is very important, hence their price. (just the inlet and exhaust valves are around 400GBP from memory)

i do....

i think the lohen head looks good on paper,
....not seen a graph yet

i cannot believe their is not enough motorsport expertise in this country to make a mini performance head....

i could understand people going to the states if was to make a supersonic airliner or a jump-jet
or an F1 car.....

what you are forgetting is it took 8mo of flow bench to get our head this good.........and it was done by the guy who owns more records with honda's than anyone I know. Now that it's CNC'd it is the same every time. Our combustion chambers are now down CNC with more valve unshrouding........it's art

Of course there is, people aren't looking hard enough. There are loads of people over here that have been involved with racing, I'm pretty sure most of them would be able to do some decent work for 4 banger mini head

I dunno Jan, the guy who worked on my head has done heads for a team thats won Le-mans.... quality not quantity of records and he sold his flow bench ages ago

GTT STAGE 2 GASFLOWED/PORTED CYLINDER HEAD

With the stage 2 things get a bit special. Firstly the exhaust ports are CNC milled out to achieve perfect port size, shape and position. We are unique in using true 3D cutter paths, cad-cam generated. Long series ball nose cutters machine the ports achieving true 3D transition from port face to throat. Only GTT do this! No manual method can achieve this level of accuracy, nor maintain consistent metal removal this far down the ports.

Secondly the exhaust valve seats are increased in diameter by 2mm internally, giving big improvements in getting the exhaust gasses out. On top of this there is still around 25 hours of manual fettling and polishing carried out on the inlet and exhaust ports, throats and combustion chambers. We also flow the manifolds and even the exhaust header pipes if required.

for info only,
CNC heads being made in the uk from 6 years ago
i am not posting this as a recommendation of the GTT head
and i am also sure RMW and thumper heads are very good and if i lived in the states i would happily buy either dependent on budget
