Well, they're a business. So it is.

they should be able to provide a service. they manufacture the parts before the car comes out fo the factory i'm sure it wouldnt be that much of a hardship to keep a batch out and send to the dealers.
You're the first person I've ever heard of to have broken the plastic top of a gearknob.

Can you imagine if they had to not only manufacture and assemble these parts in high volume, but then; put some aside, individually bag, individually label, individually keep inventory of (globally), individually integrate in to their ERP system.

Think of all that added cost, just on the off chance that a handful (I'm guessing) of people break the plastic on their gearknobs.

They supply plenty of little parts for things that often break (the switches on the headliner light, for example, you can buy individually) as it is.
