Are you going Nitrous too?? Thats huge injectors!
Gee Nige your got a good one... I'm not even allowed to mention the word mini let alone bring any bits in the house with my old lady ::getcoat::The good lady has let me build the engine inside
I'd recommend choosing the cam before having the manifold made or deciding CR, you may need valve cut-outs depending on the lift and/or duration you'll be running and I'm sure your manfiold maker will want to know the exhaust timing and duration (although it's best to speak to them about this).Still to be decided what we'll run
Very well known custom manifold/exhaust makerjack_p92 said:who is tony law? ive heard of Tony banks but not Tony law.
We have got the cam and specs etc , we are just keeping it under wrapsI'd recommend choosing the cam before having the manifold made or deciding CR, you may need valve cut-outs depending on the lift and/or duration you'll be running and I'm sure your manfiold maker will want to know the exhaust timing and duration (although it's best to speak to them about this).

Tony Law Exhausts -
They already said they are going for something uk made that couldn't be turned down so no need for the sales pitch :lol:Hi Guys, I have read about the head change.. Why don't you go with RMW ? I have tryed some heads and the Rmw is the best on the market(larger intake and exhaust valves) and with some little works accordling to the exhaust and intake header it works at the best... I know that here on minitorque you don't like the GTT products but also their stage4 head (stock intake valves and enlarged exhaust valves) works very well..but this isn't a full race spec head.
In my opinion rmw is the best on the market...I'm making with it about 303hp @ 7802 rpm, with a very racing power delivery
What head have you chose?
Thanks
We are not going with the RMW for the simple reason that he is based in the US, and we are based over here (where there are also decent head porters) To keep the head working 100% of it potential it needs to be over hauled / refreshed every year or two so that would be hassle to do.Hi Guys, I have read about the head change.. hahaha cock! I still dont doubt its the best on the market (imo) as I know which company did the initial porting of it and their reputation, how long it took them to develop and optimise it, and the further upgrades to make it what it is today. But we are going down a different route :wink:I'm sure floofs pestered Nige to go for an RMW head enough times anyway the fucking fanboy hahaha:lol::thumbup:

But we are going down a different route
It was thanks to you Stu that I contacted these as it was a good while back when you told me about them .Ii would be good if you are going to use a manchester based head shop Nige.
PM sentWould be interested to know who you use for the head and how you get along with it as it is on the list for my ex-challenge car. I'm tempted to use Guy Croft (Guy Croft Racing Engines Lincoln UK 01522 705222 • Index page) as I reckon you could count on one hand people who could match his workmanship but Mini heads aren't his thing and I'm not sure he'll entertain doing it? Been wondering if Swindon (seeing I work in the town) do individual work, they currently produce the works head for BMW? But, I'm imagining an astronomical price - nice to have a Swindon racing engine underthe bonnet though.
Are you guys using a different gear kit? Quaife race? If yes, how do you find it?
Wasn't sure if that was applying to their current car or the new one. They look quite nice - though I'm not a fan of the way the valve guides are also machined, reliability is one of my main aims. Ric Wood has used Guy Croft for development design so I may enquire over there first. It's in his sig ellingtj1,
They are using a cnc head ;-)
