Fitting a new bypass valve

16887 Views 10 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  davew66
Got a new BPV which i'm looking to fit at the weekend. Looks fairly simple in principle but maybe a bit of a ball ache to get to?

Anyone got any advice when fitting it? Or has anyone made a guide?

- Remove airbox hoses
- Remove throttle body
- Remove IC
- Remove IC to inlet manifold horn...makes it easier
- Remove bypass valve
Here you go mate, bit fiddly if I'm honest...

How To: The “Ryephix #2”, changing the bypass valve return spring

Edit. Quicker than me!? Tbf you are a racing driver oli

Cheers guys! Looks fairly straight forward, just time consuming! Will let you know how i get on!
Dunno. Only took about 15 minutes (I have put a jubilee clip in place of the snap on clip(Evil thing sent from hell))
yea stock up on jubilee clips.
need
30torx for ic clamps,
7mm socket,
8mm socket,
10mm socket,
11mm socket and spanner,
pliers
flat screwdriver
and maybe a pozi screwdriver just for good measure
1/4 ratchet set makes access real easy
and a cheeky bit of spray lube like wd40 makes slipping all the pipes into each other much eaiser
hope this helps

Cheers for the advice people, did it today, took me over 2 hours but i'm no mechanic lol
Will see if it has helped stop my "yoyo'ing" tomorrow en route to work :D
miklor clamps are the way forward, i swapped all my engine and exhast clamps over to them makes getting shit on and off 100 times easier and faster
