Have bought myself an 07 MCS (upgraded from a 56 Swift Sport) in Black with Silver stripes - picture attached! - and am so far delighted with it but I want to get it checked out as soon as possible by an independent specialist. Have a feeling there is dreaded death rattle (but could be injectors ticking, have listened to numerous videos to no avail) and also have noticed that when accelerating there is occasionally a slight dip as the revs build, in any of the first three gears.
Plus car seems a tiny bit less sprightly than I would have thought. Wondering if it might need decoking as it's relatively low mileage (60k) and in pristine condition so have a feeling it was run gently in town for all it's life. Past owner is not the sort to use the engine to its full capacity and neither was the first owner from what I hear.
So I am listening out for any recommended independent Mini specialists near me - I live in South West London in Twickenham (TW1). TWG, who I have read about are slightly less than an hour away so I can visit them but wanted something nearer if possible.
Anyone used BMWMINIREPAIRS in Brentford at all? Or TURNERS in Twickenham? They seem to show up on a quick search online but haven't seen them mentioned in these forums...
