Well I called this morning and took the 12th of November appointment. 馃榿

I've just picked my car up from Sean. Obviously lots still to do, but I'm very happy. Really impressed how well the car pulls and how eager it is already, even only using 2-4k rpm and no tune. I imagine it's going to feel amazing once its ran in and tuned!

Sean really is the only person to go to for your Mini needs! The attention to detail is second to none. So many bits sorted, niggly bits spotted and fixed that you simply wouldn't get anywhere else ime. Very happy :)

馃榿 Nice one! Bet you cant wait to get it there. Gives you a decent bit of time to get it run in nicely too.

Sean really is a different class, just a shame he's a good few hours away!

So after Sean informing me a few of my warning lights weren't working (EML, Oil Pressure and Coolant(I think)), I decided to investigate. Initial thoughts were that the guy who'd changed my LED dash colour had maybe damaged them. Knowing the faces were pretty poor as can be seen previously in this thread, I wondered if maybe the light just wasn't showing through the face. So took it all apart today and I was right, the face is just blocking the light. The quality of these are really poor, and I'm pretty annoyed as what I paid for it all to be done wasn't cheap. Handy that the guy has since gone out of business, so I can't even contact him to rectify or obtain a refund.

All lights working as they should;

Picture to show the poor quality of the faces lit up;

I'm going to update the original post with what's actually been done so far, and what's still to be done. Currently just driving the car to get it run in before 1320. It pulls really well from the 2-4k I'm allowed to drive between, although I've been informed I'm heavy footed 馃檮 馃し鈥嶁檪锔 :LOL: so I'll be easing off the throttle a little bit for now...

I am really happy with how things are going though, and the work Sean has carried out. It's all the minor bits that Sean tends to and points out, everything down to the smallest of bolts is tended to and rectified if incorrect. You just wouldn't get this anywhere else that I know of. Now on the hunt for a VAG specialist with the same attention to detail to look after my Skoda. 馃榿

A few pics of the car as it stands, bought a JC-Wing as it was so cheap I thought why not, fitted today, blade is sprayed in BEP and the ends in gloss black. Also removed the spotlights, although I didn't have a suitable tool to remove the grill so that still needs doing. Sean helped (I watched) fit my R95s which have been refurbished and fitted with Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports in 225/40/18. I'll be using lighter alloys with track focused tyres for the track.

Was it Northern lights that done your clusters?

Chameleon LED are really good and he even offered to fix members issues for free when the other guy started causing problems.

Car is looking fantastic and good to hear the running in is going well, bet you can鈥檛 wait to have it mapped and be able to give it a good blast!

Thought I'd responded to this, but yes it was Northern lights. Disappeared now, otherwise I'd be looking for my money back.

Updated the original post with what's been done so far now. An awful lot of parts have been replaced along the way, and the cost definitely adds up. The car really did need a lot of TLC though and has not been looked after by previous owners. I'm glad I've got someone like Sean working on it who spots and rectifies issues that would ordinarily be left.

Intercooler arrived yesterday in time for fitting before tuning on Friday. Decided to go for the Pro Alloy and Sean had fun fitting it I think? 馃槵

New Alternator went on too.

Thats a very nice looking cooler. Is it slightly wider ? as it looks a tighter end bend than the standard horn.
It is significantly wider. 馃榿 It replaces the right horn completely to allow it to be a lot wider than standard, it also feels much lighter than some alternatives. Sean has kindly weighed it before fitting.

Looks awesome!

I'm a huge fan of the Pro Alloy ones and would love one at somepoint. Look the part and makes full use of the scoop opening. Plus if only 2.7kg that seems really light for what it is and must help with recovery too?

I鈥檝e wanted one for years back when it was first announced when I had my 3rd R53.

If it鈥檚 the same core size as the GP then I鈥檓 hoping it may actually be better than the GP with recovery? I have the Leap Scoop too so hopefully that will aid it.

The car was tuned on Friday at 1320. Little disappointed with the figures it made though. Only 206bhp at the wheels or circa 236bhp at the fly. Sean is probably going to test a different cam in it next year to see if it makes anymore power.
