Wide angle rear view mirror fitted = central locking problems

Fitted a nice wide angle rear view mirror to the mini and now the central locking has stopped working. After a bit of research I've found out there is a sensor in the original mirror that works with the central locking.

Not wanting to got back to the old mirror, has about one ever ripped a rear view mirror apart and removed the sensor? Easy to do?

    Thanks in advance

Yep done it a few weeks ago there are two small circuit boards inside one is for the central locking / alarm and the other is the dimming the mirror which you won't need.

The cables run along the too left of the window towards the front pillar you can take out the circuit boards from the mirror and unclip the cables along the front of the window under the head lining and drop them into or behind the plastic pillar.

I'll get you some more pictures when I get home this evening if needed .

The issues I have with the mirror is that the OEM one has alot more zoom so I can see things happening alot Futher away. This is more focused towards close cars when racing. I have actually mounted mine high enough that I can still twist the old mirror back on to its roof mount and run both for long road journeys. I got mine on ebay.
