Orranje presents the Airtec TMIC for the R53 Mini

The Airtec R53 TMIC needs no introduction as it's been the source of much talk over the past few weeks on MT, so without further adieu, we are proud to announce that Orranje are now retailers of the Airtec TMIC for the R53 Mini

We are selling them for 399 delivered with a free set of snoot boots. The TMIC units are available in black or natural silver finish and you can choose your choice of colour for the Airtec logo, or no logo at all.

Follow this link to an installation guide we've made for the Airtec unit
    - http://orranje.co.uk/uploads/guides/...structions.pdf

As a special bonus, we're offering the snoot boots for free with any purchase of a R53 Airtec TMIC
The snoot boots are oval in shape and are from the PRO range of silicon products. They're available in the following colours - orange, white, green, red, black and blue

Our own independent Dyno Testing carried out on 19/8/13
What follows is the data from the dyno testing carried out at P-Torque earlier this week. Please forgive the photographs, I will have to get the original copies scanned in this weekend when I have access to a scanner and re-upload the images. For now if you want to read in more detail please save the images on to your computer and zoom in. Sorry for this but I will get this sorted asap!

Each intercooler was dyno tested twice back to back. Intercoolers were then swapped over and onto the next unit. The Airtec unit was run four times in succession with only changing the scoop from stock to the M7 Vortex between runs 2 and 3.
Each unit was freshly installed prior to their runs so they went on cold (other than the heat they absorbed from the engine during their installation). Run one was the unit cold and Run two was carried out a few minutes after run one in an attempt to simulate the effects of heatsoak.

The runs were all carried out on a Cooper S featuring the following power mods -

    17% reduced pulley
    380cc injectors
    Newman camshaft
    Orranje 'Stealth' CAI
    OBX manifold and cat-pipe
    JCW exhaust with 2.5" pipework
Currently running on a standard map and dyno runs were run on Shell V-Power fuel and all the runs were done in 5th gear.

The units being tested were the standard stock OEM TMIC, followed by the GRS Motorsport TMIC with all air diverters in place, followed by the Airtec TMIC and lastly the Airtec TMIC with the M7 Vortex scoop.

    All runs overlayed

    Run One for all scoops

    Run Two for all scoops

Stock TMIC and scoop vs. Airtec and M7 Vortex Scoop (Run 2 for both units - so run 4 for the Airtec)

These are the temperature logs that were recorded through the rev ranges. All the runs were done in 5th gear.

    Engine RPM ( /min), STOCK(C), GRS(C), AIRTEC(C), AIRTEC w/M7 Vortex SCOOP(C)

you really need to start EACH run at the SAME exact TEMP so its a better comparison
same water temp on engine etc.....just my .02

Seems the vortex scoop is a worthwhile addition, it'd be interesting to know how beneficial it is on a stock intercooler. I'm def up for one of these airtec's in the next couple of months

Did you reset the ecu on each run Rich ?

On all the Run 1 tests the drivetrain loss is too inconsistent

I'm surprised the vortex scoop added 4 deg of intake temp over no scoop on the Airtec

Very impressed that the Airtec only gains 6 deg on a power run compared to 16 deg for a GRS
