Insurance.
Just wondering what happens on the insurance side of things, am I right in assuming everyone has their own motorsport policy + liability insurance?
Just thinking of possible ways of competing and getting enough sponsorship for a race only car is pretty much impossible. So that leaves the daily driver brought into line with the regs. But what if a) I smash the car to bits, b) someone smashes my car to bits, c) a or b happen and a spectator etc get injured? |

good question which nobody has looked into yet i believe. I don;t think you need a public liability as the spectators are covered by the event organiser and thats what your race entrance costs cover, they are then usually negated of liability by the old motorsport is dangerous warnings and sticking to the required safety rules etc
As for car insurance, toughy really, you can get comptition insurance as others have said, but it won't be cheap and i would have thought the excesses would be very high. However for competition this should be cheaper than an actual race as its classed more as a timed event than a competitive race. Sure the organiser guys will be along soon
