Post Swapping Mirror Caps / Covers

After attempting to remove the covers using a screwdriver / flat knife between the mirror and surround, I gave it up as a bad job.

However, I found another guide, and successfully swapped the covers in a matter of minutes (with no broken cover clips!)...
    1. Move the mirrors to the central location, then move so they're fully titled upwards
    2. Get your fingers under the bottom section of the mirror, and with small tugs, the mirror should pop free
    3. Leave the two heated mirror wires attached, and allow the mirror to dangle
    4. Whilst holding the cover, push the bottom clips downwards, and gently pull the bottom of the cover away
    5. Once the two bottom clips are free, gently tug / work the cover off the top three clips
    6. Reverse the sequence to replace / swap the cover - be careful not to trap the motor cables, as the clips won't go into place if you do
    7. Replace the mirror by pushing back onto the circular disk it popped off

    Viola!

I snapped a clip on mine when I had to replace one! I was being quite heavy handed though.

They're a pain in the arse. I like your method though, might try that one myself when I replace my mirror lenses

Yeah, the clips seem to be very delicate, whereas the mirror clips are a lot tougher. Removing the mirror allows you to free the clips with your fingers, so stops breaking them too easily.

Nice one, I snapped two clips on one of mine and its now held on with adhesive.

That method sounds like a much better way of tackling it.

No need to remove the mirror if you are careful. put it looking up and using a small screw driver prise off the two lower clips . Then lower the mirror glass and simply prise off the 3 upper ones - simples .
    Maybe I was lucky

I accidentally cracked my mirror glass in one when I put the carbon jobbies on lol. Easydone, those clips are flimsy!

Yea, looks a bit of a ropey fit and sometimes it bugs me! Especially when you forked out for the real deal!
