    Group Buy: NITRAC Disc Brakes

Hi guys. I've been looking at getting myself some brakes recently, and I've decided to go with the Nitracs.

Jove will testify (as will I, being one of the many passengers in his car) that these things are anchors, and I'm looking forward to owning a set.

However, I've been emailing Alan at Nitrac, who has been extremly helpful. If we can get 6 people interested in (what I believe) buying a full set of discs, he is able to do a 20% discount.

If you've not seen them before, check them out here...

If you have any more questions, I've been getting very helpful responses from Alan, so I too can possibly help with advice and prices etc. I'll get the price list up shortly, but per pair you're looking at roughly between £115 and £150 (for the grooved discs, the best ones to go for). A true bargain, PLUS the 20% discount will make them cheaper still!!

Tell him your model and make and they'll make them to fit. 16 groove is the best for the track, but if you're not going for the track then 8 or 12 will be best. I'm taking 12 - good response when fairly cold, and should still be very good on track.

Alan recommended I don't go for anything drilled as the holes are obviously weak points. So it depends on your driving Andrew (I've never really seen you drive! ) - If you just drive sensibly all the time, go for the 8s, however if you like to gun it every once in a while, or ever see yourself doing track time, definitely go for the 12 groove

They're all custom made - just let them know the model

They definitely do, it's all custom. I'll try and upload the prices now.

Here is part of the email I first received:

"However we are currently offering a discount of 10% if you purchase one pair of discs and 15% if you purchase 2 or more. The black Phosphate coating costs £20.00 per pair of discs before discount. 24hr delivery is £10.00 (ex Vat) for up to 2 pairs of discs."

So I'm guessing that once we get the 6, we get an extra 5% off each. Work out which applies to you, and I'll double check with Alan

I am certainly interested - but the Factory JCW discs are a bit different - they are drilled and grooved, vented at the front - 316x22mm and then the rear brake discs are 280x10mm - can he confirm if he can match those - I'd prefer to have drilled and grooved on the rear as well
