First real clean of 2010 for the GP
After looking out of the office window on thursday I decided it was time to get the car cleaned properly as it was starting to look rather tatty. Unfortunately at this point, I realised my cleaning products had dwindled over the winter months.
.. So I rang Rubbish Boys (Rubbish Boy's Carnauba Wax Shop) and put my order in @ 16:30.. Products below delivered less than 24hrs later. Excellent service and would recommend to everyone. ![]() Anyway, a few quick pics of the dirty car before I started .. ![]() ![]() ![]() So, started with a jet wash to get rid of the loose dirt, then 2 washes with Dodo Supernatural Shampoo, followed by 2 with Dodo Born to be Mild (pic below) ![]() Following this, it came in, dried off using Plush towel. No visible dirt came off on the towel, but as per usual I was very aware that the car was not yet clean .. So a good claying followed (pre clay below). ![]() Following the claying, the car was then polished with Dodo Lime Prime Lite and buffed to a shine. Following this, 1 layer of Dodo Juice / Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition was applied by hand. I did this due to cold weather and wanting to get an even application (hand warmth helped a lot). The car was then buffed to a nice shine, trim and windows dressed. I then left for a couple of hours and another coat added.. Final pic below of the end result. ![]() Unfortunately today it snowed for 6 hours, 80 miles later it looks dirty, but beads like a beauty.. Sorry its a bit short, but kinda nackered with a lot on.. Oh and with photo's was excited at first with lots of photo's, this enthusiam died off after 5 hours of being in 2 degree weather ... I also appreciate its an amateurs attempt, no electrical polisher etc.. but hey, nothing better to do on a Sunday ![]() Finaly note.. Expert drying pole.. (Ski pole, step ladder, Wookie Mit) ![]() |
