This method (pat dry) is very good but is for the OCC but is probably the best method for ensuring no scratches... ![]() Good tip Floof for the sheeting - I tend to use a spray but it does bead up so sheeting may help with this, hadnt thought of doing that for some reason... ![]() Most drying towels are pretty much the same really - Ive used old bath towels before and they work fine - I wouldnt bother buying especially expensive drying towels just get a few cheaper ones instead then when one gets saturated break out another... ![]()

I recently bought a megs drying towal and it has amazing soaking up abilities -I was a tad sceptical at first , but i only wrung it out once on the whole car. I just lay it on top of the panel and lightly pull it across hoilding two corners, so no direct pressure on the paintwork other than the weight of the towel itself

Moved onto the Sonus Der Wunder and it is great. I admit it is expensive but you get two towels which are twice the size of the Megs and dry the whole car no problem. For drying towels I'd give it a thumbs up. |

I don't dry mine
Keep it waxed/polished, wash it and rinse it with rain water - job done. No swirlies from drying and no tough water marks ![]() I do have a Megs microfibre drying towel thingy but I just use that for the windows and chrome now!

AutoGlym chamois, used the same type for four years now and have had no problems. I keep the paint well waxed and spray the car to ensure the most of the water has run off, normally give the wheels a buff before drying the car.
I also wash the chamois through every now and then though whilst in use to clear out any crud and after seeing a 2nd wash, it goes into the washing machine. |
