Brands Hatch - MT Pre-Christmas Blast! 21/12/08

Ever thought a full on track day just a little too scary to contemplate? Would you rather just have a little taster to whet your appetite? Well now you can.

On Sunday 21st December Brands Hatch will be holding an 'Arrive & Drive' Track Day with a 20 minute session available for just £25!

This seemed like a great idea to us so we thought it a good opportunity to oragnise a get-together at the track for those that fancy mixing a car meet with a bit of track action.

To understand more about the day see below.

The world-famous Brands Hatch is a real favourite amongst trackday drivers. You’ll revel in the hills and undulations, particularly at Paddock Hill Bend, where it is more of a rollercoaster ride than a race track!

With 20 minutes of track time available from just £25 – this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy all the excitement of a trackday without committing to a full day. You’ll experience all of the aspects of a normal event including the safety briefing, sighting laps and full speed track time. All you need to take part is a car, a driving licence and some enthusiasm!

If the idea of a taking your car on circuit sounds a bit intimidating – don’t worry. Before you start on track we will provide a full safety briefing and some limited speed laps behind the safety car so that you can familiarise yourself with the circuit before you begin lapping at your own speed.

Our circuits have no speed limits, speed cameras, road works, traffic lights or police cars – it’s about experiencing what you and your car are really capable of away from any restrictions of the public roads.

Our race instructors will be on hand throughout the day ready to offer you advice in the pit lane and some one to one on track tuition if you’re really looking to boost your driving skills for a small fee.

Passengers are more than welcome to sit alongside you for some moral support for just £10 which includes a crash helmet!

In addition to the track-time in your own car everyone is welcome to experience a Hot Lap of the circuit alongside one of our race instructors. These high speed rides are not for the faint hearted and can be a real eye-opener of what a car is really capable of.

Shame I'm going to be in Scotland when this happens. I've been round Brands Indy circuit twice and is good fun. Just have to be careful with the first corner your first couple of goes as you could end up in the gravel. If your lucky they will have all the pit garages open for everyone to use.

I'll add some links to youtube later as I've got some good video of me in my mini and my friend in his mx5 turbo going around brands.

Thats not stopping you, only you is stopping you. Had mine a few weeks and put it on Combe on Run Flats, standard suspension, brakes and only a little more power. You dont need power to enjoy a track day.

You are unlikely to overheat anything in December anyway, and your stock IC will do the job quite nicely.
