    The complete brake package?

    Carbotech XP10's ( Front / rear )
Nitrac 12 groove custom ground discs
    Challenge brake ducts
    JCW calipers (R53)

Performance brake set-ups are quite noisy? Well this set-up isn't as bad as some have said.

If I've been giving it beans going through the round-about grand prix then they will start to squeak a little...

I used to run the JCW (R53) Disc. The problem I was having was over heating. Although the Carbotechs would cope with the heat the disc would not disperse the heat properly even with brake ducts on. So after about 7 laps the brakes would be starting to feel some what faded.

So it was time to upgrade the disc.

    PADS
Carbotech are a must whether you go for the aggressive XP10, or go for the less aggressive XP8 you'll not be sorry you made the choose.

    Nitrac
Very impressed I ran a complete day on a large circuit and didn't get any fade that we used to have with the JCW Disc! Now whether this was because of the long straight helping with the cooling I wouldn't be able to comment on but certainly more testing is needed at another circuit but as of right now I'm very impressed

    Calipers
    You don't need to spend big money on a set. The JCW(R53) are perfect and with the brake ducts added to help with cooling you can't get much better.}

So overall I was able to brake deeper, run longer at a responsible price Is it the complete brake package? Well for me it certainly is!

Thanks to 1320MINI for the fitting

after abusuing the R56 set up on saturday to the extent they were smokingwhen i came in even after a warm down lap, I have to say the R56 set up is great, Not one fade in 6 or 7 lap sessions. Do i think 4 pots are warranted, no fecking way, look good, but whats the point when these are so good. Must be even better without all the weight and descent pads and discs.

Are the Nitrac discs you're using the "frozen solid" ones?

Roughly how much are you looking at for the R53 JCW Caliper set up (just parts) these days Mr Jove??

I need new discs and pads soon, was gonna go OEM Discs + M1144 pads. Currently M1144's, EBC discs (pish apparently) + d5.1. Really good on the road for me but just weighing up options.

    stooopid Question.

brake ducts... you mean the metal braided lines intil the brake caliper or hte ducs like you get on sportbikes that help channel the air through the caliper?

    sry vocabulary issue here..

Ducts help channel the air on to the caliper, disc, pad it helps keep the brake cooler.

They are just connect to the bumper and the ducts just slot in. No fixings otherwise the who system would have been ripped out.

yeah spose so as they are challenge ones that makes sense.

Cheers for taking my mate out on saturday, did'nt stop going on about the car, but i think you've pushed him back to the nova, he said yours felt so planted so well set up that he thinks its takes the fear factor away from him, where as his nova is so crude it scares him and he fights it to. i personally wouod rather have the mini but i suppose everyones differnet I think thats the biker in him coming through, But he said you were so smooth behind the wheel.
