    Supercharger Pulleys? Whats the difference?

With many companies offering reduced size supercharger pulleys its a bit confusing on which one to go for.

I have noticed the Alta ones get a lot of good reviews.

What are the differences between the
    Alta original pulley

    The Alta V2

then there is this one which looks like the original alta pulley but at a reduced price. Does this mean reduced quality or is it just priced cheaper. Any thoughts?

Probably the company that makes it for Alta selling it too

Differences are quite a lot from V1 to V2. Not sure there isnt any other than size thats similar.

The differences between the 2 alta version is how it attatches to the supercharger.
V-1 is a collet style while V2 is different.
There have been some issues with the install of some v2 pulleys

the first altav2 pulley i ordered didn't align correctly, so had to have another one sent out, it was a PIA for paul as he had to take various measurements before they would accept it and it took weeks to receive a new one as replacement.

there is a british company on ebay that do ones that go on when hot, and once cooled are firmly attached and they'll fit it for you, i've heard the main issues with these is that once they're on, they aint coming off!
they are cheap though, i think £60 for a pulley. look well made though.

Just had one of the KMT 15% ones fitted.
    EXCELLENT quality & price.
    Still smiling.
They also do 17% & 19% versions so leaves the door open for a future change down in size as its a spanner job to swap.

What belt would need to be used with a 17%? Are they a common item off something else?

    I went for a 6PK1365 from here :-

FAI Fan Belts and Timing Belt Kits From The Happy Motorist

My maths says this is fine for a 17% as well as a 15%.

    Good price.

The KMT one has different grooves for belt to prevent belt slipping.

In Santa Claus time I can get some special discount for KMT ones if anybody need them.

I like the Alta V2 design. Having had a MED engineering pulley (same design as V1 pulley) come loose I would not go back to that design. It was only the tension on the belt that was keeping the pulley in place and I had to drive back from Luca's house!!!! (about 35 miles with trying not to use boost)

I can understand how you could get alignment issues with the V2 but when you have got the V2 fitted correctly it is a more solid design IMO
