Roof rack

What is the best roof rack to use that isn't perminant?

You can try gutter mounted ones, I've fitted a VW Camper roof rack to my Mini for short trips. Not sure how it would hold up over 50ish or for long journeys.

I have a thrule one doesn't take long to take off. I've been told the paddy hopkirk ones are a bit crap though. I'll throw up some pics in a bit

Are those ones safe though? The gutters on the mini dont seem that strong. Its annoying that you have to drill the roof for the oem ones. Blanking caps are just so uncool.

They don't clip onto the gutters, the feet go into the window seals. The cross bar works to hold the back bar in. It's safe and doesn't effect the window.
