Looks there are quite a few differences between the UK challenge cars and the Factory built MINI challenge cars as run in Germany and at MU09.
Exhaust is a piper system Different brake set up instead of AP's TD's in favour of the 17x7.5" Challenge spokes Different brake ducts Looks like they are based on stock Cooper S's too?

It reckon it's a matter of price. Sure it's cheaper than the stock Mini Challenge car. And sure it can be better than that.

I picked up a paper with the whole kit for the Challenge and it says 9895 + VAT and based on an S R56.
