In the interest of testing I have just swapped pulleys over and now im running what works out to be 20% with a +3 crank pulley and a 17% charger pulley.
Stock, charger,head,cooler,manifold,injectors all stock.
Even at the first drive its very apparant! monitoring the IAT and A/F I took a drive around some local roads in the heat.
To cut a vary long story short, things do get hot (upto 70 degrees after 5 hard mins, but it did not get any hotter even when driven longer) at over 5500 rpm but they also get very lean depending where the boost comes in.
As Minimania says one quick blast from the lights upto 70mph does not have much affect but prolonged use above 5000rpm does warm things up.
later in the week Im hoping to add a larger intercooler and report back, then if those temps can be brought down I will start looking at the fueling at the high boost.
But what a hoot to drive around town!!
I know this is not a conclusive style test, but It would be good to see if the same things happen on different cars and also see some different cures.
I think Perms car is helped very much by his GRS.
